The Model Directory

The following table is the beginning of a comprehensive list of Philips TV receivers produced during the period under consideration by this site. Details of additional sets will be added as I discover them (Many thanks to Glyn for starting me off with this information). If you are aware of any sets that are missing from my list please email me (I especially need G9 and G11 info).

I understand that the method of decoding Philips model numbers is as follows:

Above example is a British produced 25" CRT Kleur (Colour) set Model Number 500. The K (Kleur) suggests the decoder was designed in Holland.

G25K502			G6	Dual	as G25K500 with speaker and convergence box below the CRT
G25K503			G6	Dual	push-through CRT - sold as a dual standard set alongside the G22K511
G22K511			G6	Single	the most common single standard G6
G25K512			G6	Single	as above but bigger
G26K513			G6	Single	as above but even bigger!

G22K520			G8		the first G8 with the square channel buttons
G26K521			G8		26" with folding doors
G26K522			G8		as 521 without doors
G22K523			G8		as 520 with slight cosmetic differences
G22K524			G8		the holy grail! As 520 with rosewood sides and white top and front
G26K525			G8		As 521 in dark wood
G26K526			G8		the first of the unreliable 'electrobutton' flap-style controls - continued to be sold as the 26" version of the 550 (cf later)
G26K527			G8		Teak with folding doors; as 526
G26K532			G8		as 525 without doors (square buttons)
G26K533			G8		as 520 with cosmetic differences

G22K553			G8		rosewood veneer with a funky chrome tubular stand (clamps to the sides and is very rare)
G22K554			G8		a 550 with cosmetic differences
G22K556			G8		a 551 but with touch tuning (with neon's) and a mechanical remote (hammer and bar)
G22K561			G8		as 550 with cosmetic differences
G20C560			G8		20" with redesigned front and slight internal differences.
G22C566			G8		as K566 but with slider controls
G22C567			G8		as C566 in sapele veneer with chunky stand
G22C569			G8		as C566 all white with very funky chrome stand!
